sj, wanted to share some information I have come across on abortion and thought you might be interested about what it says of the babies brain activity at 8 weeks:
But Live Action documents that, according to Moore and Persaud’s well-known textbook ”The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology,” a heartbeat can be found about three weeks after conception.

The Planned Parenthood clinician also insists, ”It’s not a baby, it’s a fetus,” which, she claims, is ”not like a person.”

In the video, Sarah assures the woman that ”having an abortion is safer than carrying to term.”

The woman asks, ”The abortion won’t hurt me from having more kids in the future, will it?”

    The counselor replies, ”Nope.”

In an earlier Rosa Acuna Project video, an abortion counselor at a tax-funded Milwaukee Planned Parenthood business said of a pregnancy at eight weeks, ”That’s not a baby at this point. … At this point, there’s nothing developed at all. There’s no legs, no arms, no head, no brain, no heart.”

In reality, by eight weeks, all of a baby’s essential organs have begun to form. Elbows and toes are visible, and facial features – including the eyes, nose, lips and tongue – continue to develop. The ears take shape, and the brain begins to control each of the organs. The baby is less than one inch long.
Think for a moment sj, what part of the body controls the growth and activity of the body? From what all doctors tell me, it is the brain. How does one know when in fact, the brain starts to function? Common sense tells us, that if the brain controls all functions, apparently it becomes active at conception through genetic programming. The heart cannot function without the brain waves telling it to do so, nor will it function normally without the brain directing it to do so. Science and the medical field still have a long ways to go before understanding how and why and when the brain functions.

I think all of washington/economist have NO clue how to fix the mess our goverment has us in. They are using the same out dated books our schools have to teach our children. The old ideas they learned some 40-50 years ago. Our problems are new ones they didn’t have growing up, or what these ”economics experts” learned by in high school and college. A good example in Greenspan. I think he should be hung for this mess were are in. I’m just a blue collar worker, with a job that pays only minimum wage. I’m loosing my house because my hours were cut. I can’t pay my bills on what I make. The bills collector keep calling. And it not just me. So the best idea washington can come up with is to give huge amounts of money to failing business, and to countries that hate us. Here is an ”outside the box idea” that washington should have done. All and only the people that filed a tax return should get one million dollars each, tax free (that number would still be less than what was given out , so that would cost less). All those millions would go back to really start an economic recovery!
I not about to buy a car or anything because you gave GM billions to build a better car. Not on my earnings! Giving that money to the tax payers would help pay their banks, electric, cable companies, buy a car, save for college, or go to school. Fix their home and hire contractors, paying their taxes, the list goes on. These business now have people buying, of wanting their services. Companies would need to hire because orders would be comming in. Why would giving companies money to expand and grow if those products aren’t selling! The less money people have to spend, the less they are going to buy. You would say that will cause inflation but maybe that’s what we need right now.

Kevin, you sound like you are rather young, so I thought I would fill you in a bit on what has happened over the last fifty years or so. To begin with, the problems you are talking about are not new, they have been around as long as civilization itself. If you think things are bad now, you should have been around during the great depression or during WW II. We had massive financial problems then too. In the depression, people were jumping out of ten story windows, they lost all they had including their lives. Those old books you are talking about that the economist use, are the same old books that got this nation through many tough economic times. The books aren’t the problem, it is the current leaders we have now, that are the problem because they won’t follow those books when it comes to balancing a budget. The main problem is that they spend more then they take in, the same problem you are facing.

Greenspan is not your nemeses, your govt., is to blame. It is they who put the pressure on to lower interest rates and to lend money to people who could not pay it back. Next you have to look at your peers who went out and bought things they could not possibly pay for. It takes two to tango, if you get my drift. Apparently they did not adhere to those old books either.

There is nothing in our Constitution that says the govt., owes you a living or that they should bail you out if you spend more then you take in. Likewise, this govt., had no Constitutional right to bail out the businesses that it did. That is why you have people demonstrating in the streets now against this govt.

I learned as a young man, never to rely on the govt., or anyone else to take care of my needs. I also learned that I had to earn my money before I could spend it. When I did face debt and was not making enough money at my job, I worked at extra jobs to make up the difference and to pay off my debts, I did not call on anyone else to pay them for me. Those debts were my obligations, not the govt., or anyone else’s debts. If you want to be free and independent, that means you must carry your own weight and not be obligated to others for your needs. When you become obligated to others, you are their slave and that includes your govt.

The best lesson I learned, was that I and I alone was responsible for the decisions I made. You can blame everyone else for your mistakes, but until you look in the mirror and accept the fact that they were your mistakes, you will never have a better life or be free. You will be a much happier man if you don’t rely on the govt., or anyone else for your needs. Cut your spending and get out and find more work until you can catch up on your bills. Establish a budget that you can live with and maintain and then stick to it. Above all, vote for leaders that have the same attitude and mentality and try to change this present govt., mentality that exist in D.C.

Actually I’m 55+. After High I paid for my education, no student loans. After school I found a full time job in engineering, work there for 15 years, then relocated to make for money to raise a family. I worked for a major Telco company for 29 years. Then after the company and markets tanked, the company downsized from 2000 employees world wide to 50 in one building. Just like today corporate greed did them in. All the big CEO must have gone to the same schools an the greedy politician.
The goverment is the politicians, and they are to blame. It’s their job. The problem is they are making the rules for themselves, their intrests and the lobbyists. Not the American public. I have pay my taxes, I pay the interest rate the banking world set to what ever they feel it profitable fro them. I don’t rely on goverment for money. I do expect since they have decided to rely on the American taxpayer to fund their life styles, and the life styles of the world. I do expect them to act in my behalf. As you say it takes two. I have cut my spending and have not heard ANY mention the goveement cutting their salaries by 2/3rd to cut spending. No their answer to our problems is give trillions to there buddies in high places to fund new jobs. And guess what , the CEO write themselves big fat checks and say we owe it to them for the great jobs they done. I have established many a buget, the politician in country need to the same. Stop expecting the american taxpayer to the their endless source of funding for the life styles of the rich and richer. Spend the taxes on improving the American life style. Creating a job at minimum wage is not an improving in one life style.
About all these wonderful jobs being created are they real full time positons of are the just part time, are they minimum wage, any above 25-30K a year? I’ll bet not.

Kevin, I agree with most of what you have said. Personally, I have never met a man that was worth a million dollars a year. However I have met several that were worth more then the established minimum wage. As for CEO’s and politicians, we made a serious mistake in giving them carte blanche to establish their own income. Since it is the taxpayers and share holders that pay the tab, it is they who should determine the worth of their representatives.

I commend you for your independence and willingness to shoulder all of your own responsibilities, if we had more like you in this society, we would not be in the mess we are in now as they would have made better decisions in voting for their representatives. Hopefully, they will correct that mistake come November!

I was talking about the tax cuts given to American businesses SPECIFICALLY for opening and operating their manufacturing overseas. Tell me why would a company that moves it’s operations to another country to reduce employee costs ALSO need a tax break for eliminating those American jobs?

That the leadership of our Country ignores its Constitutional responsibility
to protect and defend America………….and which includes SECURING its
borders. I can’t believe how our politicians can disregard the overwhelming
calls by all of our fellow Americans TO DO SOMETHING.
The only thing they care to do is to take it to court.
Well, I am one who will take that attitude to my voting booth!

The Tea Party movement is the best thing that has happened in this country and it’s politics. I applaud every citizen that has taken the time and opportunity to stand up and fight for their rights as citizens of this country. I would like to know once President Obama signs the stimulus extension bill: whywill it take two to four weeks for us to get the back money owed us? It should be in our accounts immediately, I was calling in every two weeks like I was told. All should be done is to push a release button on the unemployment staff. I already received a eviction notice, my home phone is diconnected, and I need to pay my light bill before the end of this month, I NEED THAT MONEY NOW!
